To build a platform that genuinely connects sellers and buyers, I began by identifying key user types: small business owners, service providers, and everyday shoppers. Through interviews and surveys, I uncovered common friction points in existing marketplace experiences — from trust issues to overwhelming navigation.
Buyers valued transparent seller ratings and streamlined product search.
Sellers needed a simplified listing process and better category organization.
Both groups wanted a platform that felt trustworthy, community-focused, and easy to navigate.
I started by mapping key user flows for buyers and sellers, using insights from research to guide structure and priorities. After wireframing in Figma, I developed a clean, scalable UI system and built interactive prototypes to test usability. Collaborating with developers, I refined the design based on feedback, focusing on smooth navigation, easy onboarding, and clear product discovery.
I worked closely with the development team to ensure accurate implementation of the design system and user flows. Components were built with scalability in mind, and I maintained constant alignment using Figma and Notion for handoff, feedback, and version control. Regular design QA helped catch inconsistencies early and ensured the final product matched the intended experience.
Ummah Square was created as a values-driven marketplace aimed at connecting buyers and sellers within a trusted digital space. The concept focused on simplicity, accessibility, and community — making it easy for small businesses and service providers to showcase their offerings while providing buyers with a seamless and credible shopping experience.
